NEOGEN Yersinia Slective Agar (Schiemann's CIN Agar), 500 g
Yersinia Selective Agar is used with cefsulodin and novobiocin for the isolation of Yersinia enterocolitica in a laboratory setting. Yersinia Selective Agar is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. This medium is based on the work of Schiemann. It is used for the isolation and enumeration of Yersinia spp. from clinical samples and from food. The selective components are sodium desoxycholate, crystal violet, cefsulodin, irgasan and novobiocin. Yersiniae ferment mannitol with an intense, localized, acid production in the center of the colony which produces a red ‘bull’s eye’ appearance. The ratio of transparent border to red centre varies with serotype and environmental strains may appear rough with an irregular edge. Most other enteric bacteria, if they grow, produce a larger colony with a diffuse pinkish center and opaque outer zone. For more information visit https://www.neogen.com/solutions/Microbiology/yersinia-selective-agar

NEOGEN Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, Emmons, 10 kg
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, Emmons is used for the cultivation of fungi in a laboratory setting. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, Emmons is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA), Emmons is a modification of Dextrose Agar described by Sabouraud. SDA is used for cultivating pathogenic and commensal fungi and yeasts. Emmons modified the formula by adjusting the pH and reducing the dextrose concentration. This neutral pH enhances recovery of some pathogenic fungi. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar, Emmons is an excellent basal medium, and antibiotics and inhibitors may be added for the selective cultivation and isolation of various microorganisms. For more information visit https://www.neogen.com/solutions/Microbiology/sabouraud-dextrose-agar-emmons

Also known as TSA or Trypticase Soy Agar, Tryptic Soy Agar is used for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious and nonfastidious microorganisms. This medium can be used for a wide variety of purposes including maintenance of stock cultures, plate counts and microorganism isolation of a range of specimens. It is also used for testing bacterial contaminants in cosmetics. The addition of blood can be used for the visualization of hemolytic reactions produced by various bacterial species. The addition of Tween 80 (Polysorbate 80) and/or Lecithin, is used for environmental monitoring as they inactivate disinfectant residue. Whether you need a general-purpose, nonselective media or you need added blood to facilitate a more fasitdious bacterial lawn for the detection of hemolytic reactions, we have several products to choose from. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

NEOGEN Harlequin Listeria Chromogenic Agar according to Ottaviani & Agosti, 5 kg
Listeria Chromogenic Agar (according to the formulation of Ottaviani and Agosti) is a selective medium for the isolation and presumptive identification of Listeria monocytogenes from foodstuffs and related materials as described in ISO 11290-1:2017. This medium is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.Lithium chloride in the base medium and supplementary antimicrobial compounds Ceftazidime, Polymyxin, Nalidixic acid and Cycloheximide provide the medium’s selectivity. Chromogenic activity is as a result of a chromogenic substrate for the detection of the β-glucosidase enzyme, common to all Listeria spp. and to a few strains of Enterococci and Bacilli. For more information visit https://www.neogen.com/solutions/Microbiology/harlequin-listeria-chromogenic-agar-ottaviani-and-agosti

NEOGEN Harlequin Cronobacter Isolation Agar, 500 g
Chromogenic Cronobacter Isolation Agar (CCI) is recommended by ISO 22964 for the isolation and identification of Cronobacter spp. (formerly Enterobacter sakazakii), and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.Although rarely causing infections in immunocompetent adults, members of the Cronobacter genus have been implicated in sepsis, meningitis and necrotizing enterocolitis with a high death rate in neonates. These opportunistic pathogens are common in the environment and their ability to survive desiccation presents a significant risk for post-pasteurization contamination and survival in spray dried milk products. Tryptic digest of casein and yeast extract provide a source of nitrogen and essential vitamins. The high content of sodium chloride and the presence of sodium desoxycholate produce a selective and specific medium. For more information visit https://www.neogen.com/solutions/Microbiology/harlequin-cronobacter-isolation-agar
